The college of Dentistry - University of Baghdad was established in the year 1953.

It was a department of the Medical College.In 1958 it become a separate College belonging to the University of Baghdad .It was in this year

that the first group of new dentists were graduated.The College started with 4 dental chairs and it slowly became independent by relying on new Iraqi teaching staff.Now the college is composed of two buildings and contains about 400 dental units. The Teaching Hospital of the College was founded in 1991 , and the hospital possesses many laboratories. clinics and new centers.
