About the Department :

             Department was established at the time of College foundation in 1953.Its objectives are to teach the fundamental principles of the Prosthodontics treatments for the various types of the patients requiring oral & maxillofacial prostheses.

               The Department contains more than 4 laboratories & 2 highly specialized clinics that contain more than 28 dental units for each as well as a postgraduate department that contains a lecture hall & a polyclinic as well as attached laboratory.

     Complete & partial dentures (fixed & removable), Maxillofacial prostheses, as well as prosthetic aspect of Implantology.

    The treatment is offered to patients by the teaching staff, postgraduate & undergraduate students supervised by the senior staff of the Department.

Information about Post- graduate students/year + Degree awarded :

    The Department annually accepts candidate for postgraduate studies in the following degrees:-

1-     Diploma (one academic year), mainly professional course.

2-     M.Sc., two academic years, courses & thesis submission.

3-     Ph. D., three academic years, courses & genuine research thesis submission.

Information about under – graduate students :

   The Department begins in the 2nd year till the 5th year in the preclinical (technical) & clinical courses in the final two years. Dental material is included as a departmental responsibility as well as the prosthetic part of Implantology.
